Surrender might sound like defeat, but in God’s economy, it’s the key to victory. When we surrender our plans, fears, and desires to the Lord, we open ourselves to His perfect will.
Consider Noah’s incredible journey of faith. God asked him to build an ark – a massive undertaking that seemed absurd to those around him. Yet, Noah surrendered to God’s plan without hesitation. Genesis 6:22 tells us, “Noah did everything just as God commanded him.”
Imagine the ridicule, the doubt, and the sheer magnitude of the task. Noah could have argued or tried to negotiate, but instead, he chose complete surrender. His obedience saved his family and ensured the continuation of life on Earth.
Lessons from Noah’s Life
Trust in God’s wisdom: Like Noah, we may not always understand God’s plan, but we can trust His perfect wisdom.
Obey even when it’s difficult: Surrender often requires us to step out of our comfort zone.
Persevere in faith: Noah worked on the ark for years. Surrender is not a one-time event but a daily choice.
Embrace God’s timing: The flood came exactly when God said it would. His timing is always perfect.
Put it into Practice.
God might be calling you to surrender control over a difficult relationship or worry about your finances. He might be asking you to trust him with your health, your career, or your kids.
No matter what, like Noah, we are called to a life of faith and surrender. It is not always easy, but it is always worth it.
Spend time praying through Proverbs 3:5-6 and ask God to help you to surrender your heart this week.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
As you release control and trust in God’s plan, you’ll discover the peace that only comes with trusting in your Loving Father.
